Pacific Building Trade Expo Booth Spaces are 70% Sold

Honolulu - The Eighth Annual Pacific Building Trade Expo (PBTE) sponsored by HONBLUE, Inc. and produced in conjunction with the Honolulu Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Honolulu Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) has sold 70% of its booth spaces with returning and waitlisted exhibitors from last year's Expo - approximately 200 booths sold to date.

Barbie Rosario, of BK Corporate Coordinators, Inc., show administration consultant, has announced that "Exhibitors have responded enthusiastically and booth sales are stronger than last year." Booth Sales are now open to new exhibitors.

New to the lineup of major sponsors this year will be the International Code Council, or ICC. Program speaker Kraig Stevenson, CBO, ICC Regional Manager, Governmental Relations, will play a key role representing ICC as co-sponsor for the free Expo luncheon that day. The ICC's mission has been to develop a single set of comprehensive and coordinated national model construction codes, and since 1994 has been working with the three main code organizations-BOCA, SBCCI, and the International Council of Building Officials (ICBO), and from whom the Uniform Building Code standard originates. The City and County of Honolulu recently adopted the 2003 IBC and the IBC was also incorporated in the new statewide building code approved by the governor just this month. ICC has been a regular exhibitor and seminar presenter at the Expo since 2001.

"There is no vehicle like the PBTE in our marketplace that touches the design and building profession with as long-lasting effect and market penetration as ours, and we invite those sponsors who have not participated in the past to try it out, it will be worth the investment!" stated David Kaahaaina, AIA, former AIA President and Corporate Sponsor committee chair.

For the sixth year running the Expo will be held at the Hawaii Convention Center but now located in the larger main exhibit hall on the ground floor. The one-day Expo is the largest trade exposition serving Hawaii's building design professionals, owners and contractors. The Expo features the latest building products and services from hundreds of suppliers. It also offers a full schedule of continuing education sessions addressing current issues, innovations and techniques within the building design industry. Topics include computer technology, sustainable design, building systems, and professional practice issues, and there are special exhibits by association co-sponsors. Over 1,600 architects, specifiers, interior designers, engineers, contractors, educators, government officials and building management professionals attended the 2006 Expo.

Admission to the Pacific Building Trade Expo is free and exclusive to building industry professionals, including contractors, suppliers, government officials, maintenance engineers and those who work within the building industry. With membership in AIA, CSI, ASID, or IIDA, standard and premium 8' deep by 10' wide and 10' deep and 10' wide booth spaces will be available for reservation at discounted rates, which begin at $795. For additional information on reserving booth space or registering as an attendee, please contact Barbie Rosario of BK Corporate Coordinators by calling 808-845-4994 (Oahu) or e-mail bkcorp2@hawaiiantel.net.
