Eric R. Nelson, AIA NCARB, has been a principal at RIM Architects for 22 years, managing the RIM offices in Guam, San Francisco and Hawaii. Under his management, the RIM Guam office has accomplished award winning designs and has become the largest architectural office in the region. Mr. Nelson is past president of the AIA Guam Chapter and past president of the Rotary Club of Guam. He is now Managing Principal of RIM Architects (Hawaii).

Mr. Paul Brussow is the Senior Vice President at Rider Levett Bucknall. He has over ten years of construction related experience, including two years as owner/operator of a construction business. Paul joined Rider Levett Bucknall in Hawaii after having worked with Rider Levett Bucknall Sydney. He has a Bachelor's Degree of Building in Construction Economics from the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. Paul has worked on numerous health care, education, military, hotel/resort, commercial and residential projects. One of his most recent accomplishments includes the completion of Hilton's Grand Waikikian tower. Rider Levett Bucknall provided Cost Consultancy and Project Management Services for the new 38-story, multi-million dollar luxury time-share tower located in Waikiki.

Description This session will focus on the trends of BIM/CAD community and examine how technology has changed the way we work and collaborate with Building Information Modeling and Intergraded Project Delivery, including their relative risks and who has control of the working model. We will also discuss how BIM has allowed for the added value services to the AEC community, like sustainable analysis.

Yoshi Honda is the Director of Operations for US CAD in Hawaii. He was formerly the president and owner of Pacific CADD Services, Inc., a CAD production service company in Hawaii for a decade. US CAD Hawaii performs CAD management, implementation, and is an Autodesk Premier Solutions Provider. Honda has taught at the college level and at Autodesk University. Honda is also longtime member of AUGIŽ, Inc., where for six years he has held various AUGI Board of Directors positions including Education & Training Chair, Junior & Senior Vice President as well as President in 2002 and 2005.

Vice-Chancellor for Planning at University of Hawaii – Manoa

Description University of Hawaii at Manoa is moving forward with planning, design, and construction of major improvements and new facilities that have long been postponed and that when built, will provide leadership for Hawaii in a number of areas. Find out what UH Manoa is doing in the areas of:
• Sustainability
• Oceanographic Research – C-MORE
 • Information Technology – ITS Building
 • Expansion of Existing Buildings
 • Repairs and Renocations
 • Master Planning Policies and Procedures
Eric Crispin, Associate Vice-Chancellor for Planning, will give a brief overview on the approximately $140 Million worth of Capital Improvement Projects currently in the pipeline at UH Manoa, and how they fit into an overall vision for the Campus.

Crispin is responsible for overseeing the Master Planning and design of improvements on campus – new buildings as well as renovations. Prior to his appointment at UH Manoa, he worked at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, as Vice-President of Development – Hawaii, responsible for acquisitions and development of SVO Pacific's timeshare properties in Maui and Kauai. Crispin served as Director of the Department of Planning and Permitting for the City & County of Honolulu 2002-04. Crispin holds a degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from Sao Paulo Brazil, and is a licensed architect both in Hawaii and in Brazil. He has served as Honorary Consul of Brazil since 2001.
